On 4 November 2017 the Hako community celebrated the opening of Luman Hipakoko. The new centre is already being used to run health, education, disability and other programs. It also offers catering, room hire and a shop as social enterprises which provide employment to local women and income and revenue for the Hako Women’s Collective.
Thanks to all PiCCA’s members, supporters and friends and other Australian donors (e.g. C3 church in Sydney), the Hako Women’s Collective now have a place from which to run their meetings and programs, with proper ablutions facilities (particularly for women escaping domestic violence).
PiCCA is so very proud to have collaborated with the Hako leaders and community to construct this building!
