So good to see this new market building for fresh produce in the village of Hanpan, Bougainville.
Back in 2019 over 90 people from this and five other villages across the Hako region participated in an agricultural training project jointly delivered by PiCCA and the Hako Women’s Collective, and significantly funded through Australian Aid Friendship Grants. A wonderful project in its own right helping to develop nutritious food supplies and marketable produce for the community.
The survey of participants conducted as part of the project helped inform the Bougainville Government’s decision to provide this market building as a resource to the community.
